@rlhareauthor: I’ve been spending so much time sitting at my computer editing thousands of wildlife photos from Africa that I decided it was time to get outside. So today I headed to @Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to meet Sully, their adorable 15-month-old western lowland gorilla. Sully was born on July 21, 2025, to mom Asha and dad Goma, and he’s already developing quite the personality! At this age, young gorillas are curious, playful, and apparently not afraid to test their mothers’ patience. I was lucky enough to capture a hilarious little exchange between Sully and his mom. Sully seemed to get reprimanded and so he gave his chest a few good thumps, seemingly giving Mom a little attitude. And how did she respond? She appeared to flip him off! 😂 I had absolutely no idea gorillas did that! Now, I’m not suggesting Asha was actually making a rude gesture, but the timing couldn’t have been better. It certainly looked like a mother telling her rambunctious youngster exactly what she thought of his behavior!
