My dog is 14 and has arthritis in his hips and he did this (still does sometimes) but one thing that REALLY helped is librela he gets a shot every 6 weeks idk if it applies to yours but it might be worth looking into!

I’ve tried all the hacks and products they made for this and the thing that helped her quality of life the most is those grippy socks! But it definitely took some getting used to for Esme 😭

My dog has DM and is to the point he needs a wheelchair for walks. There is an amazing group called Tysons Love and Hope on Wheels on Facebook. They lend out wheelchairs. Not sure if that is the path your baby is on, but I was so happy to find them. It has given him more freedom to move.
