how are you supposed to find the short when you have disconnected the whole connector on the ecu side. Assuming its got a short to a ecu switched power or ground on one of the lines on that particular connector you have removed. i don't know if my question is clear

I've watched all of his videos.It turns out in the end , one of the prongs on the connector to the coil was bent out of shape

3 things, 1 when checking for power the connector has to be connected to the computer and the key has to be turned on because the computer sends power through the wires if they show it together you'll have power the same goes with ground. 2nd, you didn't explain why you use a test light instead of an ohm meter. a test light has a load. 3rd, wire could be shorted to ground when it was attached to computer. run an overlay. if ng. then bad computer.

I had one of those wires on Ram with a 5.7l punched under the intake from the factory it made it 118,000 miles before it broke
