@weldon_ismyname: Before the second minute was up, Nico Paz had already put Como ahead with a left-footed strike. He’s the same player Real Madrid rejected in the summer of 2024. He headed to Como for 6 million euros. Today, at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium and in the rain, Cesc Fàbregas’s team thrashed Manchester United 4-1 on matchday three of the Champions League. Paz scored twice and assisted Douvikas for the 2-0. For his second goal, he took advantage of a mistake in United’s buildup: he intercepted a pass, ran with the ball under control, and finished past goalkeeper Senne Lammens. With 30 minutes still to play, he had already been named man of the match. And he wasn’t the only former Real Madrid player celebrating. Jacobo Ramón, who also came through the club’s academy and now plays for Como, scored the fourth with a header. United pulled one back in stoppage time through Zirkzee, but came close to matching the heaviest defeat in their Champions League history: a 4-0 loss to Barcelona in 1994. Did Madrid make a mistake by letting him go?
