I'm in compsci and have a minor in drone tech and build robots and stuff in my free time for fun 💀 Also, AI is just in growing pains stage and is at the "everyone has a website" dot com bubble stage. It's going to wreck most fields at some point before people realize there are levels to ts. AI is just giving some of the dumb dumbs false confidence. Also, good luck getting into some of those supposed dream company gigs; if you haven't been recruited while in undergrad or aren't well networked, you probably have a better chance of winning the lottery (this is coming from someone who grew up around Microsoft, General Dynamics, Amazon, and now Space X, Meta and many others in that area and knows people at Lockheed, etc). Though, you may be able to get in through a side or back door via the contractors for those companies (just a hint). The contractors do pay less, but it can be a pipeline if you have a bit of skill and luck on your side. Some of them are less stressful than being an official employee, so some people do prefer it, but it is a more cyclical employment process and is used by the actual companies to pull a lot of shenanigans around employment laws and stuff, so not for everyone.
