i work at starbucks and it’s genuinely the best paying part time/full time job/career in my area. we’re not as busy because smaller town but i genuinely feel so bad for baristas who live in larger/more populated cities

Also we tested out mobile at my store the app will notify u that your order is ready and we haven’t even pulled your order which is then causing conflicts between customers and baristas

The fact that there is no limit to how many mobile orders can come through is insane as well. In the before times if you saw Starbucks was busy you would just not go or deal with the line. Now people see it’s crazy, and put in. A mobile order to “skip ahead” which doesn’t work and just leads to more issues.

Literally every Starbucks would have productivity skyrocketing if they just added 1-3 people on the roster at all hours of the day but that would cost money so everyone gets to suffer instead

everything you said is unrealistic and fake......she would have had 9 questions about each syrup milk and toppings, and then asked for something after she's already ordered. and if it's in drive thru she would have ordered something at the window

like why can customers order things that don't exist in the mobile app. Mid summer and someone will be able to order a drink we only have at Christmas and we have to wait until the customer arrives to give them a refund

Also don’t forget the third party apps like door dash that’s bombing them with orders too. There’s no throttling. And the apps don’t even come close to estimating an accurate time for when orders will be ready. I feel so bad for the people working there, because the whole system is set up for them to get yelled at (when none of it is their fault to begin with).
