I was there in 2020 when the DSA-LA was STRUGGLING to set up a chapter for South LA + Inglewood. Believe me when I say that getting those white members to even give af about it was like pulling teeth.

I think it's wild that the left is expected to vote for candidates that directly oppose not only our ideals, but our immediate material interests, while every other demographic expects to be individually sucked up to and begged to vote for their own best interests.

when we went on strike a couple years ago, the local dsa sent some people over to help out in solidarity. didnt see any democrats there. and the dsa guys also went to 2 or 3 other picket lines that same day to support other unions in the area. im not a dsa or a democrat but its obvious whos putting in work in the local communities with boots on the ground and who isnt

The reality is DSA doesn't need to go on a country wide tour to reach non-white people, my local meets in the whitest city in my county. we then canvass in the most diverse city in our county. this is something echoed in my friend's local elsewhere in the state. I'm proud of the work DSA does as a whole and I'm proud to take part as I can but I also can recognize that there's some fairly obvious steps that need to be taken in order to truly be anti-racist and expand
