@zoomiami: Back where he belongs! Yesterday, our team joined @myfwc, @dolphinresearchcenter, and local community members in returning “Cullen” to his natural habitat in the Keys following rehabilitation at Jacksonville Zoo. Cullen was originally rescued alongside his mother, who sadly succumbed to injuries from a watercraft strike. Working alongside FWC, our team was able to mobilize quickly and rescue the calf in about 30 minutes once it was spotted again. The calf was transported to SeaWorld for rehabilitation. Manatee rescue work requires teamwork, quick responses, and a commitment to being ready when these animals need help. We’re proud to work alongside our partners to protect Florida’s manatees, every step of the way. 💙 Activities conducted under the authority of the USFWS and in partnership with @mrp_manatee
