i'm a 1-1 but work mostly 1-2 for the two SEN children in my class and i work SO HARD with them on behaviour and doing their work just for the class teacher to turn around and say "oh just do the first 5 and you can go on the ipads" when they are fully capable of doing them all. not to mention she gives them work wayyy below their ability (on the few occasions she actually plans for them), so i do almost all the planning for them🥰🥰

I done an emergency ehcp review told them they was doing more damage than good and he hasn't been back since May. His 7 he would spit or hit teacher/pupils and they would take him to the playground like what why are you rewarding him! yes he knows the difference and yes he has pda but this is ridiculous

Got one student who will say so much ridiculous stuff but if you give it attention he will continue and if you ignore it he will stop after like 30 seconds. And I’ll be dealing with it great and then another staff member will come around and start engaging with it and he will then argue with them for half an hour. 😭

As a Para, this is how we feel everyday. And I get it, some ppl just tired.( I get tired too and some kids just won't ever care to behave) And I'm not that oblivious to know teachers deal with way more students than I do. Lots of behaviors these days too. But I love my kids and I work so hard to build structure in them and teach them about responsibility, time management and try and get them ready for life out of school, from 9-12th grade and it's so hard when a lot of teachers are like oh, turn it in whenever, or no consequences for actions, or they cheat and don't get an F or they have a melt down and no longer expected to do anything. Like the real world won't give you that grace and we are supposed to be slowly building them up to face that.

like saying if they keep playing games on the ipad then it won't go home, they do it again, they have a meltdown, the head chats to them, they apologise to you and then the ipad goes home?

im working in ABA and my supervisor does this. pissed me off and explained why he did his behaviors cause he knew no matter what hed get what he wants. thankfully I took myself off the case a month late cause it escalated and people and myself were getting hurt and they weren't helping at all
