i feel dumb because i can't legit get the math behind this. The enemy has 200 health,the Crystal is 25% of that (50) ,You hit it with a move that deals 50,how does those 2 things do 200 dmg?

This is kind of high risk high reward for Emma, not to mention extremely situational. Her diamond form is not something to just be wasting, and if you miss your crystal into a cancel, you're out of 2 cooldowns immediately

As an Emma Frost main, my biggest advice is to keep your Charge Beam at 100% for as long as possible. Trust me, you’ll melt enemies way faster by maintaining your beam damage instead of constantly switching to Diamond Form. Your Charge Beam is where Emma’s real damage comes from, so don’t waste your Diamond Form unless you actually need it. Use it to cancel an enemy’s ultimate, protect yourself in a situation, or when you need to engage or escape. The best part is that activating Diamond Form while your beam is fully charged preserves your 100% charge, so you can switch back and keep dealing consistent damage without having to charge it all over again. Keep your beam charged, maintain your damage uptime, and only go Diamond when there’s a real reason to. That’s how you get the most out of Emma Frost.

Also if you can shoot your laser at the enemy AND the sentient at the same time the damage compounds. Same thing works if you punch the sentient and the enemy at the same time

It spawns 1/3 of the way bt u and target. The melee from diamond and the regular beam pierce the gem so it’s like 2x damage if you use it right
