@saltnsorcey: 🥩Braised Beef Chuck Restaurant-quality comfort food made in one Dutch oven! Tender, fall-apart beef with a rich, glossy sauce that tastes like it came straight from a fine-dining restaurant. ❤️ 🥩 INGREDIENTS * 2 lbs beef chuck roast, kept whole * Salt and freshly ground black pepper * 2 tbsp olive oil * 1 tbsp butter * 1 medium onion, chopped * 1 medium carrot, chopped * 1 celery stalk, chopped (optional) * 3–4 garlic cloves, smashed * 1 tbsp tomato paste * 3 cups beef broth * 2 sprigs fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried) * 1 bay leaf * 1–2 tsp balsamic vinegar, to taste * 1 tbsp cold butter, for finishing the sauce 👩🏻‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS 1️⃣ Pat the beef completely dry and season generously with salt and pepper. 2️⃣ Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the whole roast for 3–5 minutes per side until deeply browned. Remove and set aside. 3️⃣ Add the onion, carrot and celery to the same pot. Cook for 6–8 minutes until golden. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. 4️⃣ Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes. Pour in the beef broth, add thyme and bay leaf. 5️⃣ Return the beef to the pot. The liquid should come about one-third to halfway up the meat. 6️⃣ Cover and braise in a preheated 300°F oven for approximately 3–4 hours, until a fork slides in easily and the beef falls apart. Cooking time varies depending on the roast and your oven. 7️⃣ Transfer the tender beef to a plate. Strain the braising liquid into a saucepan and skim off excess fat. 8️⃣ Simmer the sauce uncovered until concentrated and glossy. Stir in balsamic vinegar to taste. Turn off the heat and whisk in 1 tbsp cold butter for a silky, restaurant-style finish. 9️⃣ Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or potato purée, spoon that gorgeous sauce over the top, and finish with fresh thyme or parsley. 🤌 ✨ TIPS * Keep the roast whole for a beautiful, tender centerpiece. * Don’t rush the braising process. The beef is ready when it’s fork-tender, not simply when the timer goes off. * Taste the sauce before adding more salt. Reduce gently to avoid making it too salty. * Make it a day ahead for even deeper flavor! Save this recipe for your next cozy dinner! 😉 #BraisedBeef #BeefChuck #DutchOvenCooking #ComfortFood #DinnerRecipes
