Edith Marks lost her loved one but kept going, so I think that’s why Tony based E.D.I.T.H. on her. She was created after the snap when Tony lost Peter, and later given to Peter so she could help him after Tony’s gone, so she has Edith Marks’ resilience while also being a reflection of Peter’s personality
