here's why! for starters, stark is a male tortoiseshell with white. male tortoiseshells are typically 1 in 3000 of all tortoiseshells as most of them are females! but that's not all! most male tortoiseshells are XXY and have a condition known as klinefelter syndrome. however, what makes stark so special is he is a chimera! a chimera is when two embryos fuse during gestation. we had him genetically tested at Texas A&M to determine if he was XXY or a chimera. stark has two distinct sets of 38,XY chromosomes. there are only 2 other possible cases confirmed to be XY/XY, however, what they lack are extra thumbs! stark is also polydactyl! stark has 6 toes on both front paws and 5 on both back paws! while polydactyly isn't rare, having extra toes on all four paws is! the other documented males do not have this! he also had dichromatic eyes which are the rarest eye color in cats! he has a ring of green around his pupils! and last but not least, stark also has a unique pattern! he exhibits black tabby markings, solid black, orange tabby markings, and white! black solid and black tabby cannot occur at the same time without being a chimera! he also has a white tail tip known as a
