@thestatnation: On October 21, 1973, Los Angeles Rams defensive end Fred Dryer made NFL history by recording TWO safeties in a single game against the Green Bay Packers. More than five decades later, he remains the ONLY player in NFL history to accomplish the feat! The craziest part? Both safeties happened in the FOURTH QUARTER! With the Rams leading 20–7, Dryer tackled Packers quarterback Scott Hunter in his own end zone for two points. Then, just minutes later, he did it AGAIN, this time bringing down backup quarterback Jim Del Gaizo for another safety. That's four defensive points from one player in the same quarter! The Rams went on to win 24–7, improving to 6–0 on the season, while Dryer cemented his place in football history. Since that October afternoon in 1973, thousands of NFL games have been played, but nobody has managed to match his incredible achievement. ONE PLAYER. TWO QUARTERBACKS. TWO SAFETIES. ONE RECORD THAT STILL STANDS 53 YEARS LATER. Follow Stat Nation for more incredible sports stats, trends, and records! #nfltiktok #nflrecord #sports #nflfootball #nfl
