Twitch reached out about becoming a Partner! I just met with their team, and we're working through the paperwork. What started as a stupid COVID hobby has grown into something I never expected. NONE of this happened without all of you. I've always been transparent, so here's what this means for me, my team, and our community. First, GUARANTEED TRANSCODING! This is my biggest reason for pursuing partnership. Viewers get more quality options regardless of their internet connection. Accessibility matters more to me than a fancy badge. Second, subscriptions and revenue. To date, I haven't paid myself a single dollar from content creation. Not one. The moderator who clips some of my videos has actually been paid more than I have! Almost everything earned has gone back into hardware, infrastructure, and educational projects. I've personally invested far more than this has generated. Twitch's Plus Program offers a 60/40 revenue split after reaching 100 Plus Points monthly for three consecutive months, or 70/30 at 300 points. My goal is to make this operation self-sustaining, fund more educational projects, and start giving my moderators a regular cut of the revenue. Third, some changes to TikTok streaming. With Twitch Partnership moving forward, I'll likely be doing fewer streams on TikTok. Unfortunately, I've had ongoing frustrations with TikTok moderation, particularly around reaction-style educational content. Even when we're watching videos specifically to discuss, analyze, and comment on the subject matter, I've encountered moderation issues. That's frustrating when a significant part of what I do involves teaching, breaking down technology, and discussing other people's work. I'm not abandoning TikTok, but more of my livestreaming will likely shift toward Twitch, where I can better support the interactive and educational content I want to produce. I'm also upgrading toward 4K60 streaming and exploring Twitch Stream Teams to bring tech creators together. Here's where I could use your help. If you enjoy my content and can comfortably afford a Twitch subscription, it helps us work toward these goals. But nobody should feel obligated to spend money. Watching, sharing, and helping others learn matter too. I measure success by how many people I've helped, not how much money I've made. Thank you for getting us here. We're just getting started. #Twitch #Cybersecurity #Homelab #Linux #Technology
