American auto manufacturers make good engines. It’s not the engines that are the problem.

GM engines may be reliable, but all of the rest of the car around it will fall apart.

Statistics dont lie. American cars just dont last as long as just math. Consumer reports used 12 years of data across the industry. GMC came in 9th. That was the first american in the list. Sorry bro

I look at all of the reliability and American cars just don’t even compare. I have 180,000 miles on my 4Runner. Not a squeak, not a rattle, everything runs and operates like it should. Name any GM product (excluding diesels) that you could get the same thing 😂

no Chevy engine last over 70 thousand miles before falling apart 🙄 maybe Chevy needs to take notes from Toyota and Honda

American cars are designed to fail within 80-100k miles
We can't compete with any out of country automaker, that's why they aren't allowed to be sold here

Ive genuinely never seen an american car that wasnt a shitbox all around, okay maybe they make reliable motors, but the rest of the car falls apart around it.

not to mention Toyota doesn't make a truck that can do half the work of what some of us need for a truck and I'm sorry but every time I've tried a Toyota it's been junk

Acura is the only decent American automaker and that’s only because it’s owned by a Japanese company.

I had an sbc 350. It was a terrible engine that made less horse power than the 4 cylinder 2.5L naturally aspiratiled Porsche that I replaced it with, and guzzled fuel to the tune of 8 mpg. Every 150k it required valve cover gaskets because they would become crispy, brittle and leak more oil than the Exxon Valdez. Meanwhile the 1989 MR2 I bought on ebay sight unseen for $900 was able to run and drive perfectly right off the truck. Got 25ish mpg, never even asked for spark plugs, let alone addional oil, and survives being driven hard and put up wet even after all this time. The 350 was a problem child at 1/4 that age and having never left the family.

America’s largest fleet of vehicles is powered by the iron Duke, A 2.5 L in line 4 cylinder . Every single male truck has probably over a half 1,000,000 miles and God knows how many hours and they run just fine.No Toyota motor will survive with the iron Duke has been put
