Give a soda with lime a try and a bit of caffeine! It always helped me stay social later and blend in a bit with everyone else drinking. It also helps keep people's mind off the not drinking part which helps w the social aspect too!

I’ve had soooo much fun at weddings, parties, bars, completely sober! I love dancing and socializing, don’t need to be drunk to have fun. I have so much fun dancing and talking to people, people assume I’ve been drinking but I haven’t. Wake up feeling great the next day!

I'm a 19 year old who's never been drunk, high, etc. never ever ever ever ever once felt left out. Went to any HS and college party and nobody cared that I never drank. I love to observe and feel like I'm in my own movie (lol)!!!! I am very social and don't need it to feel social!!! Thank you for sharing your experiences and many people relate!!!💞

This makes me like you even more!! I’ve always been the same. Drinking doesn’t make me feel good physically or mentally. It also isn’t good for my migraines and acid reflux. I choose to be sober and I’ve come to peace with it.

I gave up drinking for lent last year and I still went out (probably more than I do now) the best is Kareoke cause it’s still a fun activity

If you show up with your own drink in your cup, nobody even knows that you are not drinking. So it then takes away that feeling of you not fitting in because truthfully unless you bring it up, nobody is really noticing. I have never been a huge drinker. I was always the designated driver in college, but if I didn’t want people to know that I was being a “party pooper “ I just showed up with my own cup!

No girl it only gets worse as you get older. I’m almost 35 and my hangovers last for 3+ days. Not worth.

Same. The next day I’m depressed and sad bc I know I’m not happy but my friends want me to go. I always went into a mental hole the next day bc I knew it wasn’t me. Trust me I TRIED to convince myself. But nope I hate it. I’m a grandma at heart idc.

I was the same way in college and still am now. I would occasionally drink but for the most part I just enjoyed being out. It should be more normal to not drink. Keep doing what makes you happy! You are mature not immature at all.

I didn’t start drinking until I was a senior in college! (granted, I had quite the year when I did)😅 it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone if it makes sense to you, and your friends will invite you if they’re your friends - from IU❤️

I went out sober all of the time in college! It felt strange sometimes being the odd one out but I never regretted it the next morning 🫶🏼
