I have a funny pumping story for you. About ten years ago I worked a retail job. My pump room was an old changing room stall. That was in back dock Sometimes a possum would cross by . I use to put my milk in a coffee creamer container . Take it home end of the day I labeled it with my name and it and put please don’t drink. For a while I thought sleep deprivation was getting to me. I thought I pumped more out didn’t think about it till one of my coworkers watch me poor milk into it. And freaked out . He was like I thought that was coffee creamer. He went to HR HR laughed and went it has her name on it and please don’t drink on it. I haven’t worked there in 8 years and I still think about that guy and wonder how he is doing because my daughter is healthy as shit and I wonder if the antibodies in my milk helped him as well😂

So you don't get Maternity leave in the US, they hassle you when you have to pump because you're lactating because you have an infant you can't be with because you're working, and they're aggressively pushing for more pregnancy. Very sad.

I mentioned today I thought a meeting my boss called was for every one and had been waiting to eat and pump so I didn’t miss it and bless her she said “ to be clear nothing comes before the mothers room “ 🥰🥰🥰 I get so worried about my pumping schedule and being inconvenient but I was thrilled they provided me a room, with a whole official plaque and a sign I leave in the room that says this is NOT shared space or break room and am lucky to not have to deal with this so far 💝

I will never understand how someone’s pumping can be considered an inconvenience to anyone other than the person pumping. The whole point of a lactation room is to not be an inconvenience to anyone, even if breasts were involve, pumps aren’t exactly quiet and being mad abt a private space for it while complaining abt inconvenience is crazy

Omg! One of my jobs, we moved to a new building and the lactation room didn’t have power in it when we first got there. My boss told me to pump in the bathroom, which I threatened to sue if that was her solution. Why are women so fucking mean about working moms pumping and being a mom?

Do they honestly think pumping is some relaxing phone scroll break? 😭😭 I have a gianormous scar and while not the same, I have to clean and rewrap a protective pad on it every 2~ hours so I have to get out of a lot of classes, one of my teachers told me to just tough it out, and when I did I showed him how much I bled 😭 never again did he stop me though!

Honestly i wouldn’t mind ppl using it for breaks as long as they leave when necessary. A little private room is nice. But being respectful of its actual purpose when necessary is the key. But cuz of people who think they can have and do whatever they want then unfortunately the room has to be used for its intended purposes regardless. Which sucks. Call me naive but i think that if everyone was respectful and kind then simple things like this wouldn’t be such a nuisance 🥹🥹🥹
