There was a time when my nose piercing was simply a part of how I expressed myself. But as I began growing deeper in my walk with Christ, God began dealing with me about certain things, not because they were wrong for everyone, but because he was asking something different. I started realizing that the piercing had become more than just an accessory when I noticed I didn’t feel pretty without it. So I prayed. I asked God that if it wasn’t for me, I would lose it and not find it again. And somehow, I did lose it. But of course, I went and bought another one. Looking back, I realize God was showing me something deeper. It wasn’t really about the piercing. It was obedience. It was about surrender and where I was placing my confidence. Eventually, I had to accept that if God was asking me to let it go, I needed to be obedient. So I removed it. Not because someone told me I had to, not because I believe everyone else has to make that same decision , but because this is between God and me. My transformation has been teaching me that sometimes God will ask you to surrender things you never thought were a problem until He reveals what they’ve become in your heart. I’m not perfect, and I’m not trying to become perfect overnight. I’m simply learning to become more sensitive to God’s voice and be willing to obey him, even when obedience means letting go of something I once felt I needed. And honestly, I’d rather surrender anything that makes me depend on it for my confidence than lose sight of who God is calling me to be. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new 🙏🏾 2 Corinthians 5:17 ✝️
