I pictured it like a cliff but there was just rock at the bottom, like the grand canyon I guess? I may be wrong but i think I remember the book saying that when silka throws her axe it goes over the cliff edge and then comes back up

It looks like there is no way of entering that area so I think it’s realistic that the Capitol did not care if they saw it or not 😭 (I also love this design choice)

There wasn’t a dome over the 50th Arena like the 75th if I remember correctly. The force field that the axe bounces off of is the one around the generators powering the Arena. The hazard stopping the Tributes from leaving was just a massive cliff area that was the “edge”.
