I love when you explain things to us. I completely agree — someone’s reaction and response should be taken into account. Sometimes termination would happen either way but lying on tip of the behavior didn’t help.

Dang. I mean it's common sense that a company computer would be tracking any messages and emails. How people don't know this is beyond me. But also, there's no way people are saying these things in a message to each other and some of it isn't spilling out to in the workplace in general. I'm sure they've made people feel uncomfortable but people were afraid to come forward out of fear of what would be said about them to others behind their backs.

additional training as a remedy seems to comes up often. what really is that? Maybe I'm too cynical but it sounds like the purpose is so the company can say "well, we trained our employees about X" Does it actually solve anything? are they just covering their asses?
