𝑲𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒁𝒊𝒏𝑯𝒕𝒘𝒆 :
In the Thai drama "Scarlet Heart Thailand", we have noticed the use of "Traditional Myanmar Clothing", "Traditional Oil-lamp Dances", "Royal Thrones used by Myanmar Kings, "Peacock motifs that were historical symbols of Myanmar", and images of the “Bya La” mythical creature, which is regarded as a symbol of the "Rakhine people and is traditionally associated with good fortune".
We strongly urge GMMTV to show respect for Myanmar’s cultural heritage. These cultural elements are deeply meaningful to the people of Myanmar and should not be copied or used without proper acknowledgment, consultation, and permission from the relevant cultural representatives.
Since the drama portrays Thailand and Thai people without directly representing Myanmar or its people, we cannot accept the unacknowledged use of "Myanmar Traditional Costumes", "Cultural Dances", "National symbols such as the peacock", the Rakhine people’s symbolic creature, the "Bya La", and "Royal Thrones historically used by Myanmar Kings".
We are not demanding the cancellation of the drama. However, if GMMTV intends to continue airing it, we respectfully but firmly call on the company to address these concerns seriously, engage in meaningful dialogue with the Myanmar people, seek appropriate permission where necessary, and take concrete steps to ensure that our cultural heritage is properly respected and acknowledged.
Respect Myanmar’s cultural heritage. Our traditions, symbols, and history deserve recognition, respect, and protection.🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲
