@gmanews: SATELLITE IMAGERY OF SUPER TYPHOON ROSAL Super Typhoon #RosalPH (international name: Champi) was seen on Wednesday, Oct. 21, churning towards Taiwan and Japan’s southern Okinawa islands, bringing the prospect of heavy rain and high waves to the region. Although the storm is forecast to weaken as it approaches land, strong winds and heavy rainfall are expected across Taiwan and southern Japan on Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24, said Taiwan media. The super typhoon’s eventual path remains uncertain though Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration said a sea warning could be issued, with a land warning also possible depending on the typhoon’s track. The Category 5 storm has been moving across the Philippine Sea, where it has maintained its strength over open water, according to storm-tracking imagery from CSU/CIRA and meteorological agencies.
