@mistithorpe: 🚨 “WE’RE PAST THAT. SHE’S PURPLE.” — THE 911 CALL FROM AN OHIO MOTHER NOW CHARGED IN HER 17-MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER’S DEATH. Details from the 911 recording and probable cause affidavit reveal a heartbreaking timeline surrounding the death of a 17-month-old little girl in Orient, Ohio. On October 13, 2026, Brittany Stroud called 911 to report that her daughter was not breathing. When the dispatcher asked if she knew how to perform CPR, Brittany responded: “We’re past that. She’s purple. Oh my God.” Another child could reportedly be heard crying in the background, asking what was happening. But what investigators learned about the hours leading up to that call raises even more questions. 📍 WHAT THE POLICE AFFIDAVIT REVEALS: According to court documents: ▪️ The toddler reportedly spent much of the previous evening on the living room floor while family members were home. ▪️ Her grandmother, Tammy Stroud, who had legal custody, reportedly told investigators she went to bed while the child remained on the floor. ▪️ Tammy stated the toddler was still on the living room floor when she left for work around 6 a.m. ▪️ Brittany told investigators she checked on her daughter around 7:30 a.m. and heard what she described as snoring before going back to sleep. ▪️ Around 11 a.m., Brittany reportedly discovered her daughter unresponsive on a mattress, with her face partially pressed into it. ▪️ According to the affidavit, Brittany did not attempt CPR. Emergency responders subsequently performed CPR and transported the child to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. 🚨 BUT SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITY IS NOW RAISING ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS. Although Brittany reportedly told investigators she went back to sleep after checking on her daughter, screenshots circulating on social media appear to show activity from her Facebook account during the hours leading up to the 911 call. If authentic, those posts could raise questions about the timeline Brittany provided investigators. The timestamps and who actually made the posts have not been independently verified. It is also unclear whether investigators have reviewed this activity. 💔 THEN CAME THE AUTOPSY RESULTS. Investigators initially received information suggesting the child’s sleeping position may have restricted her breathing. However, an autopsy performed October 14 revealed that the toddler had a fatal amount of fentanyl in her system. And there was another troubling discovery. Brittany was NOT legally permitted to have unsupervised visitation with her daughter. A court order had placed the little girl in the custody of her grandmother, Tammy Stroud, reportedly because of concerns involving Brittany’s fentanyl addiction. Court documents also allege that the toddler and a younger sibling had both tested positive for fentanyl at birth. ⚖️ BOTH MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER NOW FACE CHARGES. Brittany Stroud, 30, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, and possession of a controlled substance. Tammy Stroud, 52, faces related complicity charges. She surrendered to authorities on October 18, pleaded not guilty, and was given a $250,000 bond. As of the latest confirmed reporting, Brittany remained wanted by authorities. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office at 740-420-5752. Both women are presumed innocent unless proven guilty. My question is this: If a court had already determined this mother could not be alone with her child, how was this little girl left in her unsupervised care? And if the Facebook activity is verified, could it change investigators’ understanding of what happened during those crucial morning hours? 🎧 Listen to the 911 call and share your thoughts. #BrittanyStroud #OhioTrueCrime #TrueCrimeNews #JusticeForChildren #PickawayCounty Sources: Law&Crime, ABC 6 WSYX, WHIO, PEOPLE
