did you wear nausea patches by chance? i put them on behind my ear and touched my eye (had no idea you needed to wash hands immediately) and my eye dialated so bad i couldn’t see and had swelling.

If it is a corneal abrasion, you’re contact will make it feel soo much better! We use BCL (bandages contact lens) for abrasion!!

Not the best idea to patch if it’s an abrasion. Can cause infection to fester

DO NOT put your contacts back in until the redness and pain is gone because this happened to me and I permanently lost some of my vision in my eye because it got infected and I now have a scar on my cornea.

Okay so reading these comments, I am absolutely torn because i’ve been on multiple cruises and i wear sea sickness patches. I never knew they were a danger to eyes. this is me 24 hours post cruise and after removing my patch. I wonder if this was the cause now.

do you wear contacts? because I just learned i was severely allergic to my contacts and this was the exact thing that happened to me. and now I cant wear contacts ever 😢

It’s the nausea patches. You absolutely CAN NOT touch anywhere near your eye after handling them. You should put them on with gloves AND cover them with a bandaid. When disposing of them, be sure they’re completely wrapped up and not loosely thrown in the trash.

Clean eye really good and use hot compress and eye drops. Same thing happened to me on a cruise and it was from the lash glue and that’s what worked for me.
