In church this past Sunday, a man who went to Ghana on a missions trip was speaking about an encounter he had with someone he met there. The topic of conversation was the difference in worship between Americans and the people of Ghana. The man from my church said he noticed how when the people of Ghana would worship God, it was “vertical worship,” meaning that there was a direct connection between them and God that he hadn’t witnessed with people in America. He said that he noticed that the people in America are very focused on their surroundings and it takes them a while before they can lock eyes with God (figuratively). The man from Ghana stated that the difference was due to God being all they have. America has a lot more resources than Ghana, and when Ghanaians need something, they go directly to God to supply their every need. The people of America are so distracted by things of the world, and other resources, that there’s somewhat of a disconnect there — because we can get what we need from another source — sources that offer instant gratification, and are more convenient. But this Ghanaian man said that the way they go directly to the Lord for all things — it works. Every need of theirs is taken care of. And they’re full of joy. Always. Point is… trust in Jesus. Come up out of the world, and don’t rely on these instant resources; go to God and let Him meet your every need. The connection we will have with Him, by doing this, will be worth it — even if sometimes that means waiting for help or an answer. Trust Him. 🕊️ #fyp #JesusChrist #christiantiktok #trust #Home
