Genuinely Rumi was understandable in all of her behavior, and I felt like I could relate to her so much. We need more characters like her. HOW HARD IS IT

I swear the plot is just gonna be like every Disney movie nowadays, girl is awkward, something is weird with girl, girl goes somewhere, and then she “accepts” her powers or smt

I'm sorry but for me personally maomao IS annoying. But maybe it's because of anime adaptation

there's a balance between having a character with annoying traits or does annoying things, and a character that just is annoying. and that line is to do with character development and the WHY they do it, they haven't really found the balance yet, but it's almost always have been like this, the only difference is nowadays we see more into the thoughts of the Disney main characters versus back then we really only say them and what was happening to them, which makes it seem like they were less annoying, there are a few older and modern Disney main characters with good character development, but many characters don't get a good character development. character development isn't just having a relatable backstory. that specifically is what they miss the most

Im sorry but those are anime characters, anime characters can be completely different from Disney because Disney appeals to kids, these animes usually dont.

i totally agree but honestly it really just adds to plot and many girls aren’t just ‘independent’ or just like mao mark shinbo and other independent women characters. most of the disney characters are still children so it kinda adds to the ‘ annoying ‘ part.

I think the intention of it is for young girls and to feel less alone when being awkward or accidentally annoying
