God didn’t stop the people of Babel from reaching heaven with a tower. 😭 In Genesis 9:1, God told Noah and his sons to “fill the earth.” Then in Genesis 11:4, the people said, “let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” Notice how that directly contradicts what God had told them to do. They wanted to make a name for themselves and prevent being scattered, rather than obeying God. God confused their language in Genesis 11:7–8, and they scattered anyway. It wasn’t about God being threatened by human technology or being afraid of people reaching heaven. The point was their pride and disobedience. NASA sending spacecraft into space isn’t the same thing as humanity collectively defying God and trying to establish its own greatness without Him.
