@thevaultpodcast: Five years of repayments and her student loan has gone up by £15k 😳 Most UK student loan repayments depend on what you earn rather than what you owe, but a Master’s loan would add an extra 6% on top. Would you take on the Master’s loan, or hold off for now? 👇 #studentloan #studentfinance #mastersdegree #nhsmidwife #ukpersonalfinance
complete agree that nhs workers shouldn't have to pay for their education. but at this point, she should go ahead and add to the loan to get her masters. she is never going to pay the loan back and the loan amount isnt what affects how much she pays, her earning are. so it doesnt matter if she takes a further loan out to get a masters.

Yes because you will then be paying two separate loans, no one told me this before I did it. I pay £430 in student loan repayments (both) on a £58k salary.

I’ve just finished my masters. I now have 2 student loans and it’s £120,000 I will never pay it off regardless so if you can just go for it and accept the fact it’s a further 9% tax for the rest of your career
