@rugby_on_tiktok: At 18 years, Rassie Erasmus had to go to the Army because it was compulsory at that stage after he finished matric because he didn't have money to go ahead and further his studies. At that stage, if he didn't go to the Army/Military, he would have been put into jail. While he was at the Army, his mom left his dad because Rassie's dad was an alcoholic. But Rassie's Dad had been locked up in a room by his mom and dad, and they gave him food until he went through all the alcohol withdrawal, and withdrawal symptoms. After a while, a stomach pain was a sign of cancer. Then Rassie's Dad died within days after finding out. In the Army, Rassie says he learnt some valuable lessons.
