@kylie__gc2: On January 13, 1976, eight-year-old Eloise Worledge vanished from her bedroom in Beaumaris, Melbourne, while her family slept. Her parents discovered her bed empty and the window screen cut open. Nothing else appeared to be missing. More than 250 officers searched for 18 days, examining thousands of homes, parks and nearby beaches. Yet not a single confirmed trace of Eloise was found. Forensic investigators later questioned whether the window had been used at all, raising the possibility that the scene had been deliberately staged. In 2003, a coroner concluded that her disappearance was suspicious, but the mystery remained unsolved. Fifty years later, police are still searching for answers. A little girl vanished overnight, leaving behind one of Australia's most haunting mysteries.
