My favorite scene is after this when she got out of the cab on the way to the airport and played with the old men in the park. Instead of being anti them because they were Russian she treated them as human which how they in turn treated her

I loved the series and I developed a theory after watching it a couple of times in full. What if Beth was never adopted and what if all the people and characters in her life after learning chess were just coping mechanisms or DID? Every time she was going through something they would always pop up and save her. They helped her over the phone to get over this final match Jolene being the sister she never had and her adoptive mother dying when she no longer needed a mother figure. Imagine if it was just all in her head, except for when she learned how to play chess and it brought her a career, but these people were all coping mechanisms? If her brain can see a board on the ceiling why couldn’t her brain protect her?
