technically Kang wasnt beaten by ants, he was delayed and injured by ants. he was beaten by Scott Lang in a straight up fist fight after he got away from them.

k dont think kangs defeat by ants is that bad, ants are so f*cking strong and when antman is made smaller he kepps his mass and often is as strong as normal, so if its the same wirh the ants i dont think the death is that bad

Jonathan Majors' conviction definitely made it easier for Marvel to pivot away from Kang, but it wasn't the sole reason. Feige has said that the failure of Ant-Man Quantumania set off alarm bells because you can't build up a major villain if people skipped his first major appearance. Loki, being a Disney+ show, didn't help because only a fraction of MCU moviegoers were subscribed to Disney+ and watching it. Thats why Disney rushed to put the Marvel shows on bluray and sell them at Walmart, they were trying to get people to watch them. Before Majors was convicted, Variety put out a report that Marvel was considering cancelling The Kang Dynasty and replacing it with an Avengers reunion movie that brought the original cast back and centered on Doctor Doom.
