🚨Pep Guardiola on Oscar Bobb scoring the winner for Fulham against Coventry City: 🗣️ Pep Guardiola: “I watched Oscar Bobb, and I have to say, I was happy for him. Very happy. Not only because he scored the winning goal, but because I know the boy, I know his qualities, and I know how much he wants to play football. “Sometimes, people see a player leave Manchester City and immediately think the story is finished. They think, ‘If Pep did not keep him, maybe he was not good enough.’ But football is not so simple. Not every player can have the minutes he deserves at a club where the competition is so high. “Oscar has incredible qualities. His close control, his movement in small spaces, the way he understands football these are things you cannot teach easily. When he was with us, you could see he had something special. But having talent and having the opportunity to show it every week are two different things. “And now he scores the winner for Fulham against Coventry City. Beautiful moment for him. These are the goals that give a young player confidence. You score one winner, then you want another, and suddenly you start believing you can decide games. “I remember watching him in training at City. He could receive the ball in a very small space and find a solution when everybody thought there was no solution. Sometimes I would stop the session and say, ‘Oscar, how did you see that pass?’ [Laughs] He has this natural ability. “But I also know that young players need patience. They need to make mistakes, they need to play, and they need a manager who trusts them enough to let them grow. You cannot expect a young player to develop by watching football every weekend from the bench. “I am not surprised he scored. Maybe I am happy that he did it in such an important moment. A winning goal is different. You can play well for 80 minutes, but when you score the goal that gives your team the victory, everybody remembers you. “And I know how people will react now. Some will ask why Manchester City let him go. Others will say we made a mistake. This is normal. When a former player scores, suddenly everybody becomes an expert on the decision you made two years ago. “But when Oscar was at City, we had Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and many incredible players competing for similar spaces. I had to make decisions for the team, not for the headlines. Sometimes a player needs a different environment to take the next step. “Look at it this way: if Oscar stays with us and plays only a few minutes, people complain that we are blocking his development. If he leaves and scores a winner, people complain that we let him go. So tell me, what exactly do you want me to do? Keep every talented player in Manchester and build a squad with 45 players? “No, seriously, I wish him the best. He deserves to enjoy this moment. Fulham have a player who can make a difference, and Oscar has an opportunity to show everybody what he can become. “But let me say one thing: when a young player leaves Manchester City and succeeds somewhere else, it does not automatically mean Manchester City failed him. Sometimes we help develop a player who is eventually ready to shine in a different shirt. I am proud of Oscar, even if one day he scores a winner against City. And if he does that, I will call him to congratulate him” [ This is the source @UTD_Seth001 ]#PremierLeague #creatorsearchinsight #football
