I loved life and never thought I would ever feel like this but I am experiencing so much pain with a recent illness that has no treatment. I can’t see a way forward with this condition as it’s not compatible with living a normal life due to excruciating pain. I am ( or was) very balanced and resilient but this has pushed me over the edge

Sometimes it's not that someone has a mental health issue. Someone can totally view death very differently and feel that they have the autonomy as to when they leave this planet.

That may well be true, but even a well adjusted person, due to various reasons such as abuse later in life can succumb to such feelings
