@segawa.pic: I want everyone to try real Japanese matcha! 🍵 The rural area where I live produces more tea than anywhere else in Japan! 🇯🇵 Matcha is booming all over the world right now, but what’s actually happening on the farms where it’s grown? That’s what I want to talk about today! #japan #lifeinjapan #matcha
how do we oversees buy matcha from these farmers? would love to but unsure how? x

Some UK sites that I’ve seen sell it for £50/£80 for 100g. Thats quite expensive for most so it’s a luxury. But I wonder if it’s being unfairly marked up and therefore has a knock on effect to Japanese farmers. What do you think?

Is there any programs for foreigners that would love to move to Japan, learn and language and learn from elders how to keep their heritage alive?

I love watching your videos of real rural Japan and the issues faced. I would definitely buy matcha from your local farmers if that was an option!
I prefer it without milk though -would you consider doing a video to show the best way to make it?

I’ve tried all the “best” matchas, but NOTHING compared to the matcha I had in rural Japan!! 🥹🍵 Met the sweetest local farmers who introduced me to some of the most incredible matcha I’ve ever tasted. Was genuinely blown away!! Bought as much as I could, but now I have no idea how I’ll ever get more 😭 We could barely communicate without translators, and I only discovered them by visiting in person. PLEASE be the bridge between these amazing small producers and the rest of the world!! There are so many hidden gems in rural Japan! 💚

I think I speak for most of us when I say that we would love to support small Japanese farmers, if we could buy it from them directly.

Organise tours, when I went to China I went on a tea tour and they charged for this and everyone on the tour purchased bags and bags of tea to take back to Australia and Matcha and it was a really great experience. They showed us how to brew it how to make masks out of our green tea leaves after we’ve used them. It was an amazing learning experience.
