My mom never compared my elder brother and I with anyone or our selves but my dad the opposite compared us (between ourselves and others) so much that in Jss2 I compared him (to his face mind you) to my friend’s dad who he had been comparing me to.. I had said “oh really can you do what her father does to maintain grades (me: 8A’s and 3B’s. My friend: 10A’s and 1B) her father has money you don’t, he teaches and solves their assignment with them, have you ever sat down with me to do anything” my mom had scolded me but I felt satisfied at his expression of shock from that day he stopped the comparison.

Ehhh my mama like to compare ehn😒. I have 5 bank accounts, two years ago my mum saw one alert I forget to delete, she said it’s only 280k I have in my zenith. So I don’t have savings, that my younger sister probably has more savings than me. That was the last time I sent my sister any kind of money. I kind of agree with the comment that said "una guide Na" I don't really know his family background so I may be wrong but the reason why rich families don't tend to mount pressure on their children so much is because their children can afford to make mistakes with the parents knowing with their resources that child can bounce back but for the average Nigerian that luxury is not there to give their child that level of freedom cause ok the chance the child doesn't sit up on their own there is hardly any chance for a bounce back
