WHO IS MATT EASTON? WHERE DID MATT EASTON COME FROM? HERE'S A STORY I'VE NEVER FORGOTTEN. I grew up in Colorado. My mom made approximately $4,000 A YEAR. I couldn't read properly. I couldn't spell. And I thought I was stupid. THEN ONE AFTERNOON... I was playing in the mud with a little green Matchbox Porsche. AND THE REAL PORSCHE DROVE PAST ME. I chased it. Waited outside a house for almost two hours. And finally met the owner. He was a salesman. He worked for TEXAS INSTRUMENTS. And he was selling computers. But here's what changed my life. HE TOLD ME HE WASN'T JUST SELLING A COMPUTER. HE WAS HELPING SOMEBODY WHO HAD PARKINSON'S DISEASE. He was helping an attorney find a way to manage his work despite the challenges created by his medication schedule. Then he told me something I'll never forget.

And he told me to STOP talking about myself that way. He opened the front of his Porsche. AND GAVE ME A SPEAK & SPELL. Then he gave me batteries. And another Speak & Spell for my brother. THAT STRANGER CHANGED MY LIFE. I began looking at the world differently. Instead of asking why everything was so difficult, I started asking: "WHAT PROBLEMS ARE PEOPLE HAVING, AND HOW CAN I HELP?"
