@itstherespawn: CD Projekt Red has hired so many modders that Cyberpunk 2 associate game director Pawel Sasko says "half of the quest team is all former modders." He called modding a "foot-in-the-door technique" and a "gateway into game dev," because it shows fans how games are actually built. When he gave the same figure in 2024, the quest team had around 24 people, and its quest director, Błażej Augustynek, started out modding StarCraft. Other modders have been hired from Witcher and Cyberpunk communities, and Sasko says there are modders in other departments too. A separate roughly 20-person team called Jigsoft is made up entirely of modders and helped build the modding tools for The Witcher 3. The comments came as CD Projekt Red has partnered with mod.io, and Sasko's advice to anyone wanting into the industry is still "go and mod." #cyberpunk #cdprojektred #gaming #gameplay
