@dr.dan_dpt: I use manual therapy quite a bit in my practice and that manual therapy sometimes includes using tools like this. Manual therapy is great for creating reductions in symptoms and short term improvements in range of motion allowing people to get more out of the movements I’m having them do. But it’s important to be realistic about what’s actually happening and one thing that is definitely not happening is any tissue breaking up. This also means that you don’t have to use tools like this very hard to get the desired effect. There is no need to press so hard that you leave the patient bruised and sore. #physicaltherapy
what's the weird gross crackling bubble wrap texture/sound on some patients when we use this?

QUICK QUESTION. does RF help actually break up fascia scar tissue?

Rex Chapman :
Wait. Stop and think about these force claims. If it takes 10,000 to 30,000 psi to deform fascia tissue - no human would ever develop plantar fasciitis if the tissue is as strong as you claim.

But why engage in a treatment with poor carryover like manual therapy when you can choose something like an active modality that can also improve self efficacy?

Take the force you claim is the maximum a human can exert and adjust it for the surface area of the edge of that tool and you will find that the pressure exceeds what is necessary, by far.

Physiologically speaking , does manual do anything for the actual tissue or is it just a neuromuscular thing ?
