Back at it with the drills today. I didn't have time to get new pens today so I did the drills with the brush pen today. I started with ellipses and cylinders like usual. Switching to brush pen is almost like a reset with these drills. Now that pressure and line weight are factors, I need to get repetition and rebuild up that muscle memory. I did a box snake as well to get more practice making lines with the brush pen. Since boxes are based n straight lines and angles, the mistakes I make are more clear than with the cylinder stuff. I was happy with how my anatomical gesture drawings came out. As i do these more, I start to develop more confidence in my lines, which helps me work quicker. That anatomical confidence helps when I draw the clothed models too. In order to understand how the clothes sit on the body, you have to understand how the body is oriented. Getting better at drawing is a marathon not a sprint. Getting mileage on these drills every day will eventually pay dividends over time. Just have to keep at it.
