@moffitttravelllc: If you normally book an Airbnb the night before your cruise, you’ll want to pay attention! Starting November 20, 2026, Airbnb is introducing stricter rules regarding certain extra charges, excessive cleaning demands, and undisclosed fees. That means hosts could face consequences for violating Airbnb’s policies. Now here’s our question for cruisers: 🤔 When you’re flying into another cruise port a day early, would you rather stay at an Airbnb or a hotel? And if you’re already paying a cleaning fee, should you still be expected to clean the property before checking out? Let’s hear it! AIRBNB or HOTEL?
Expect your rates to increase. It seems like it should be a courtesy but some of these homes are 3000+ sq ft. The 4-5 hrs between check out to check in is barely adequate time to clean these homes and repair them to a standard that is acceptable. People will complain if there’s a single strand of hair or a crumb on a floor. These cleaners take great care to make sure that they do a flawless job. I don’t understand why guests shouldn’t be expected to leave these homes as good as they found them.

Derek Reimer :
It more helpful for the cleaners for guests to put in a pile for bedding and towels and collect your garbage, and make sure the dishes are clean
