Lith Discipleship Ministry :
God works in and works out.... "salvation" is a solution already placed by God in us... so work out means no matter what the problems we encounter in this evil world against us, the solution is already in us to apply in all ways without the utilization of the mind of the world... this is the context of the verse... work out the solution in you in my absence... the Spirit of God is in you as your solution that is in accordanve to the will of God... this is not about eternal salvation... instead of sitting around and murmuring over the problems of tge world, we just apply the mind of God in all situation so the world can see whar kind we are...our solutions to the problems we face shdnt bring accusations, rebuke from the world..our solutioms in actions and utterances shd come from the mind of God and becomes the light the world sees... Philippians 2:14-15 [14]Do all things without murmurings and disputings: [15]That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

The power of the Gospel which got us saved, is powerful enough to bring out or activate the salvation we have . Rom 1: 16-17
