nah my mom cooked us meals, obsessively cleaned until it was spotless, and took us shopping for clothes often. but never once do I remember her giving me a hug when I cried, asking me how I felt, or even checking on me to see if I was okay after my father once again went on a verbally and physically abusive rage against me because he had a bad day.

Yesterday my daughter told me her daily activities and she asked me "what about yours" so I went down the list bc she's specific she wanted from start of my day to end.... she let me finish and said "omg mommy you do so much no wonder why sometimes you look mad I'm going to help you" 😭😭😂😂😂😂😂

My grandma lived with me growing up and cooked the BEST meals every single day. I remember thinking I just wanted a night of eating junk for dinner. And now at 27 I would give my left arm for another one of her meals 😭

She really worked 50+ hours per week but came home every night to make a home cooked meal + chores … we don’t have a relationship for various reasons but I’ll never take away from her how amazing that was. I WFH and can’t even accomplish that
