You're so right, a diagnosis does not change the forgetful moments, but it gives that negative self talk a kinder reason instead of just blame. That double thumbs down under 'How did I forget AGAIN?' is the clearest version of that shift I've seen, do you still hear the old wording pop up first?

undiagnosed: I'm a bad duck diagnosed: I'm just a different duck Neurotypicals: Why are they talking about a duck? Neurodivergent Millenials: "Tell me the duck story!!"

I wish the world could understand this. My whole life it’s just been “if you would care about it you would get it done.”

Love the truth of this. Shame and embarrassment of the way some make us feel with these symptoms

The memory thing 🥺I thought it was just me 😳 I call people all the time in the middle of something. It’s a normal reoccurring thing… they go “what?” And I go “haha don’t remember I’ll call ya back!”

My mother used to constantly screech at me “what the fuck is wrong with you?!”. Now I’m diagnosed AuDHD, I know there is nothing wrong with me 😌

The switch from "I'm so lazy" to "I need some help starting" is everything. Same stuck moment, but the diagnosed version sounds like someone who's finally on their own side.

omg all of this! 7 weeks post audhd diagnosis and 2 weeks on elvanse. the meds are life changing but the diagnosis has given me language 🤩 yesterday we got an email at work about redundancies and I know it'll hit our team at some point. i started to tell my partner that I'd fail a technical interview because I can't hold all that info in my head - I'm a great engineer with a degree but I can't remember anything I've learnt in the classroom, i only have a good memory for things i touch everyday. I stopped myself and said actually I need to declare my diagnosis now so when the redundancy interviews hit I can tell them that I have a different working memory, ask for allowances and show them my strengths (absolutely amazing empathy and manager skills!)

My diagnosis did not help, granted I was 12 and it was 30+ years ago, so the negative messaging from outside was still happening...

Hit burnout during perimenopause& honestly if it wasn’t for learning about myself through others sharing their realities, I may have given up. I really believed something was wrong with me. Then, finding out just the possibility I could be neurodivergent, I went down rabbit hole after rabbit hole& everything began falling into place and making sense. Once it started making sense though I kinda got sad and mad and then sad again. It’s been a chapter I didn’t know I’d be adding to my story but I’m really glad I am. 💙💙💙 I’m very appreciative of the videos y’all share💙💙💙
