NIGERIA, MY COUNTRY 🇳🇬 — WHEN WILL WE LEARN TO LIVE TOGETHER? How come the spiritual power we claim to possess is often used to harm one another instead of building our nation? Our movies have made many people grow up afraid of their villages, believing that witchcraft and spiritual battles are waiting for them within their own families. But is that the best use of the ancestral power some people claim to possess? Why can’t we channel our knowledge and abilities into building industries, developing technology, improving infrastructure, fighting insecurity, and creating a better Nigeria? Why are we not using our energy to challenge bad leadership and protect those who are making our nation proud? Why do we celebrate when someone dies, especially someone whose beliefs differ from ours? Why attack pastors, Christians, or anyone simply because they preach or sing about Jesus? Why attack me for singing according to my understanding of the Word of God? Everybody has the right to their beliefs. If your traditional religion works for you, practise it peacefully. If I believe in Jesus Christ, allow me to worship Him. What blesses you may not bless me, and our differences should never be an excuse to hate or harm one another. The same rain falls on all of us. The same sun shines on all of us. We share the same land, yet we have different beliefs. When will we wake up and stop allowing religion to divide us? Jesus taught us to forgive those who hurt us, love our enemies, do good to those who hate us, and feed those who are hungry. That is the principle I choose to follow. I appreciate the contributions of Christian missionaries to education and infrastructure in Nigeria, while believing that we must all work together to develop our country. I BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST. I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF HIS NAME. I will continue to sing about Him, and nobody should be attacked for peacefully expressing their faith. May Jesus Christ protect Christians and all people facing persecution for their faith around the world. May God give Nigeria peace, wisdom, unity, and leaders who will serve the people. 🙏🏽 I need your prayers.
