Salaries stagnating for decades. A taxation system that makes it difficult for SMEs to hire staff permanently. An economy that is at a standstill. Young talent moving to work abroad because they cannot get a job at home. I mean come on!!! When the government is failing its citizens, the only solution is to protest and yes make it uncomfortable. That means sadly that everyone will suffer from it but it is necessary.

I've discussed this in recent English classes I hold in Sardinia. out of about 50 people 100% support the protests and many said that others should join in solidarity. I agree.

The amount of money these companies will be losing as the food expires and isn’t being bought also will make an impact

I 100% agree with you. It’s a last resort for people to do this.

I agree with you and I support the protesters but only in the South of Italy is it being spoken about or being felt, even as close as Rome people don't know anything about it. Only here are the people paying the pricd. The lack of fuel so people can't get to the hospital for their chemotherapy etc, can't get to work, can't take their children to school etc. is frightening. Unfortunately the North/South division here is like living in two different countries
