I was one of those responders at the WTC. If the American people knew how disgusting many of their representatives were when it came to 9/11 related healthcare, they’d turn some tables. Mike Rogers was particularly terrible. To think we had to spend time and money to beg our elected government officials to help us while they waived the flag and used us as political propaganda was insulting and disgusting. Guys like Jon Stewart and John Feal held the line when many of us were too sick to do it.

Stewart’s speech to Congress that day may still be one of the best speeches I’ve heard in my lifetime. This is what true patriotism looks like - not someone flying an American flag on his oversized pickup truck with truck nuts on the back.
