@mamaroarsews: Day 22/31: making tiny costumes every day These require a little more pattern modification than the other costumes I’ve posted, but they’re still totally doable. Create a duplicate of the pants pattern piece and cut a curve exactly where you’d like the chaps to end. Sew along this curve with a small piece of fabric placed behind the pants with right sides facing. Cut the outer part of the curve with pinking shears about 3/8” away from the seam. Cut the inner part of the curve about 1/4” away from the seam and snip the seam allowance. Turn the facing under and press for a nice crisp edge. Now you’ll place the chaps piece on top of the pants fabric and topstitch them down along the curve. Trim down to the regular pants pattern, trim the curve with pinking shears, and finish sewing the pants like normal. I paired the chaps with the tank pattern with no closure and no overlap and the cowboy hat from the accessories bundle.
