@newschambers: Israel’s election has been described as the most important in the country’s history. There a few key things to know about, not all of which I can cover in one reel: - Former IDF Chief Eisenkot is the slight favourite to become the next PM. His position on many of the main issues: Gaza, Palestinian statehood, Iran, and settlements are more or less the same as Netanyahu, if softened a little in language. - ⁠While described by many as being more to the centre, his military doctrine has been described as a clear breach of international laws and informed how the IDF would conduct its operations in Gaza, described by UN experts, scholars and many countries and aid agencies as a genocide. - ⁠Far Right parties are in the ascendancy with first time voters. They are battling to outflank each other. They have pledged to continue settlements and “Judaise” majority Palestinian areas of northern Israel. - ⁠Arab parties may hold the balance of power, representing 20% of the population, but all of the major right wing parties refuse to deal with them. The Arab population of Israel has been subject to increased racism campaigns and attacks in recent years.

honestly, I don't think most of us really care what happens to the gazans. after what they did, the full destruction of gaza is something they will have to live with. gazans danced when the world trade centre fell.they dance when the killed jewish girls and brought them back to gaza. horrible ppl really
